Rare Christopher Radko Christmas Ornament Partridge In A Pear Tree 12 Days
RARE CHRISTOPHER RADKO CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE 12 DAYS CHRISTMAS. This is a rare rendition of “Partridge in a Pear Tree” the first in the 12 Days of Christmas series. And handpainted by highly skilled Artisan’s for Christopher Radko. This one seems to be a little different than most. Of the others that I see listed. I think that this could be a prototype. It comes from the collection of an avid collector. Who had access to a great many rare and limited pieces. Decorations in California, Zender’s. One of the things that I notice about the piece is that the top metal hanger has. Rounded edges on the bottom of the tabs, all of the other ones seem to be pointed and is clearly stamped RADKO. Also, there is very little of the. Sugary type glitter that seems to encompass all the other pieces that I’ve seen, this one has just a little and confined. To the area where the two molds are joined. Also, there is a hangtag in the box that it came in and it is marked that. It is from the Czech Republic and all the others seem to be from Poland. Now, I don’t know that this hangtag really. Goes with this item, but it does have a woven silver cord type string on the tag, which is also unusual for any tag. All of these clues lead me to believe that this ornament is different from the numbered limited edition, which was marked. And numbered in that manner. And another difference is that the bird is definitely cherry red and all of the pears are trimmed. In a solid band of the same color, some of the birds appear to be black. The tree trunk itself is also the same color cherry red and the foliage is lime green not the deep green that is represented of page 106 of “The First Decade”. Decide for yourself, but I think that this one is rarer than the regular limited production pieces. It is the same dimensions as the others, 7 tall and is free of chips or cracks.
