Christopher Radko SANTA CALLS Saks Fifth Avenue 1996 Ltd edition #2247/5,000
This is the SAKS FIFTH AVENUE limited edition SANTA CALLS… The theme of their 1996 holiday promotion including the Fifth Avenue store’s window display. “Santa Calls” is the central character in a children’s book by William Joyce. Santa is #2247 of 5,000. Many of these ornaments were broken in transit, so this is a VERY RARE ornament, in perfect condition and only taken out of the box to photograph. Never hung or displayed. Santa is jolly and plump, standing 7 inches tall. He is holding a drink, and winking at us. His coat is red, of course. He is smoking a long pipe and his white scarf if flying in the wind as he skates…. Each Radko ornament is hand blown and hand painted by artisans in Poland…. Taking several days to a week to complete, making each one unique. Comes with original box. Box is missing original glassine, but otherwise in excellent condition. This is the perfect gift for the collector–or someone who loves the spirit of Christmas and the beauty of this Santa.
