VTG LE #3 XL Angel of Mercy CHRISTOPHER RADKO Marshall Fields CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT
Extremely Limited Edition from 2002 Very Low Number… 3 of 80 — #3! Extra-Large 14 Blown-Glass, Entirely Handcrafted Ornament. Created for Marshall Field’s Beloved State Street Walnut Room Christmas Tree. Here we have a very scarce, very desirable, very low numbered Christopher Radko Christmas tree ornament from a very limited edition — number 3 of 80, Angel of Mercy. Everything shown in the photos comes with this piece — the ornament, and all of the original pieces and parts — packing box, padded wrap, certificate of authenticity, and explanatory card. Vintage : extremely limited edition only ever produced once in this size, in the year 2002. Condition : Our photos are the most important part of our description. Please enlarge all of them and examine the details closely. Overall excellent vintage condition. We see no condition issues to the ornament itself other than a spot of discoloration on the very bottom that, due to the incredibly reflective qualities of the sterling silver lined glass, isn’t very noticeable. The collage photo shows the bottom from the bottom and from the front, and the arrow points out the spot. Bright and shiny piece, fresh and clean, with no chips, cracks or scratches. There is hot glue residue on the metal hanger. These were the only glass ornaments ever hung from the very family-friendly Walnut Room’s Big Tree, so for safety reasons, the hangers were hot-glued to the ornaments. The certificate of authenticity states #3 of 80, and explains the special history of this collection. It, and the explanatory card, have light shelf wear. The box is the original one produced for these jumbo ornaments, and it is plain white, with no Radko print. It is in excellent condition with some light shelf wear. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we’ll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us. Approximate measurements : 14-ish. Don’t ask why. We don’t know why. If this happens to you, stop, do not pay. Back out of that mess and shoot us a message instead, asking for a combined invoice, and then wait to pay from that. If you’re unable to pay within terms, please reach out with your Plan B. So just shoot us a message. If we messed up — everybody does — give us a chance to fix it. We promise it was unintentional, and we’ll do what we can to make it right. LE #2/80 CHRISTOPHER RADKO Marshall Fields ANGEL OF MERCY Christmas Ornament VTG
Extremely Limited Edition from 2002. 2 of 80 — #2 of only 80! Jumbo Sized — nearly 14 tall — Glass Ornament. Created for Marshall Field’s Beloved State Street Walnut Room Christmas Tree. Here we have a very scarce, very desirable, numbered Christopher Radko Christmas tree ornament with a very limited edition — number 2 of 80. We have five different jumbo ornaments from the same special limited edition Field’s collection with very low, single-digit numbers, including one numbered #1. These come to us fresh from the auctioning off of a collection of pieces Mr. Radko personally chose to have set aside for a special library project that never came to fruition. Please see our store for more of these very special “Library” pieces. Vintage: These were produced for the 2002 Field’s great tree. Please see our photos for the best description of this piece’s condition. Enlarge and zoom in on them, and please ask questions about anything you see in them that doesn’t seem “excellent” to you. This piece hung from the Big Tree in the Walnut Room of the Marshall Field flagship store on State Street in Chicago, around which so many families’ Christmas traditions were built and memories were made. Very bright and shiny paint with so much depth in the glass, fresh and clean, with no chips, cracks or scratches. There is hot glue residue on the metal cap — the caps were hot-glued to. Keep the ornaments from falling off of the Big Tree and breaking. All of the ornaments from this collection that we’ve seen have hot glue residue on their hangers. The certificate of authenticity states #2 of 80, and explains the special history of this collection. Comes with its original box with the label, 02-MAR-03B denoting the year 2002, MARshall Fields, and its coloration. Due to the high value of this item and its fragility, it ships this way only: triple-boxed, within its original box, which is then boxed up carefully, which is then boxed up carefully in another box, which is then sent via Fed Ex, insured, with signature confirmation. We pack for the Apocalypse — it’s not pretty, nor is it cheap, but it is very, very effective.
