VTG LE #3 XL Santa Toychest CHRISTOPHER RADKO Marshall Fields CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT
Extremely Limited Edition from 2002 Very Low Number… 3 of 75 — #3! Extra-Large Blown-Glass, Entirely Artisan-Made Ornament. Created for Marshall Field’s Beloved State Street Walnut Room Christmas Tree. Here we have a very scarce, very desirable, very low numbered Christopher Radko Christmas tree ornament from a very limited edition — number 3 of 75, Vintage Toybox. Everything shown in the photos comes with this piece — the ornament, and all of the original pieces and parts — packing box, padded wrap, certificate of authenticity, and explanatory card. Vintage : extremely limited edition only ever produced once in this size, in the year 2002. 8″ height x 7″ wide x 6 deep. Condition : Please see our photos for the best description of this piece’s condition. Enlarge and zoom in on them, and please ask questions about anything you see in them that doesn’t seem “excellent” to you. This piece hung from the Big Tree in the Walnut Room of the Marshall Field flagship store on State Street in Chicago, around which so many families’ Christmas traditions were built and memories were made. Very bright and shiny paint with so much depth in the glass, fresh and clean, with no chips, cracks or scratches. There is hot glue residue on the metal cap. These were the only glass ornaments ever hung from the very family-friendly Walnut Room’s Big Tree, so for safety reasons, the hangers were hot-glued to the ornaments. The certificate of authenticity states #3 of 75, and explains the special history of this collection. It, and the explanatory card, have light shelf wear. The box is the original one produced for these jumbo ornaments, and it is plain white, with no Radko print. It is in excellent condition with some light shelf wear. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we’ll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us. Don’t ask why. We don’t know why. If this happens to you, stop, do not pay. Back out of that mess and shoot us a message instead, asking for a combined invoice, and then wait to pay from that. Extremely Limited Edition from 2002. 1 of 75 — #1 of only 75! Extra-Large 8″ x 7″ x 6 Glass Ornament. Created for Marshall Field’s Beloved State Street Walnut Room Christmas Tree. Here we have a very scarce, very desirable, numbered Christopher Radko Christmas tree ornament with a very limited edition — number 1 of 75. We have five different jumbo ornaments from the same special limited edition Field’s collection with very low, single-digit numbers, including this very same ornament, but at a lower cost due to its not being a #1. It is a #2, though. These come to us fresh from the auctioning off of a collection of pieces Mr. Radko personally chose to have set aside for a special library project that never came to fruition.
