LE #5 Angel of Mercy CHRISTOPHER RADKO Marshall Fields Walnut Room XMAS ORNAMENT
Extremely Limited Edition from 2002 Very Low Number… 5 of 80 — #5! Extra-Large 14 Blown-Glass, Entirely Handcrafted Ornament. Hung from Marshall Field’s Beloved State Street Walnut Room Christmas Tree in 2002. Here we have a very scarce, very desirable, very low numbered Christopher Radko Christmas tree ornament from a very limited edition — number 5 of 80, Angel of Mercy. Everything shown in the photos comes with this piece — the ornament, and all of the original pieces and parts — packing box, padded wrap, certificate of authenticity, and explanatory card. Vintage : extremely limited edition only ever produced once in this size, in the year 2002. Condition : Our photos are the most important part of our description. Please enlarge all of them and examine the details closely. Overall excellent vintage condition. Bright and shiny piece, fresh and clean, used only the one season on the Marshall Field’s Big Tree, and has been carefully stored since then. There are two very light glaze scratches and a tiny rub on the bottom of the ornament — these are impossible to photograph due to the enormous reflectiveness of the glass, and the only way they can even be seen is upon very close inspection, while holding the piece this way and that. No chips or cracks anywhere, and no other scratches anywhere else. There is hot glue residue at the hanger, as these were the only glass ornaments ever hung from the very family-friendly Walnut Room’s Big Tree, and for safety reasons, the hangers were hot-glued to the ornaments. This is a very common practice among Radko collectors who have all too often heard the horror of their treasures crashing to the floor in a million pieces. The certificate of authenticity states #5 of 80, and explains the special history of this collection. It, and the explanatory card, have light shelf wear. The box is the original one produced for these jumbo ornaments, and it is plain white, with no Radko print. It is in excellent condition with some light shelf wear and someone’s addition problem written in ink on the top ugh. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we’ll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us.
